An in-house training session was conducted for the History department on 16th September 2025 by Mrs. Steffi Susan. The session aimed to share key insights from the recent CISCE workshop and align departmental practices with the updated guidelines.
Key Points Discussed:
• Revised Question Paper Pattern: Emphasis was laid on the changes in the structure of question papers, with a shift towards more analytical and application-based questions.
• Application-Based Questions: Teachers were encouraged to incorporate questions that assess students’ ability to apply historical concepts to real-life or hypothetical situations.
• Activity-Based Learning: Strategies were discussed to make history more engaging through interactive activities that promote critical thinking.
• Bloom’s Taxonomy: The session highlighted the importance of planning lessons and assessments based on the different levels of Bloom’s taxonomy, ensuring a balanced cognitive development.
• Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS): Special focus was given to designing questions and class discussions that develop analytical, evaluative, and creative skills among students.
The training concluded with a collaborative discussion on implementing these strategies effectively in classroom teaching to enhance student engagement and performance.
