Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” – Nelson Mandela
A CISCE History and Civics workshop for Grades 9 and 10 was conducted at Sri Kumaran’s Public School on two consecutive days, from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The session was led by the resource person, Mrs. Rashmi Ramesh, and attended by teachers Steffi, Angel, and Manusha. The workshop focused on in-depth discussions around the syllabus, question paper pattern, and the framing of higher order thinking (HOT) questions. Special emphasis was laid on creating competency-based questions that cater to diverse learners, ensuring inclusivity and balanced evaluation.
Key points highlighted included:
• Structuring question papers that do not focus on any political leader or religion.
• Avoiding the use of AI tools for question paper setting.
• Understanding the importance of unbiased and inclusive assessments.
On Day 1, the Grade 10 paper pattern and relevant concepts were explored, followed by Grade 9 discussions on Day 2, covering similar aspects in detail. This insightful training equipped educators with practical strategies to enhance assessment quality and fairness, aligning with CISCE’s vision of holistic education.
